Buried Alive: N73, N80, N93
Saturday, January 5, 2008
Once upon a time, the N73, the N80 and the N93 were kings of smartphones. N73 was the king of imaging, N80 was the Internet and Connectivity king, and N93 was the multimedia and gaming king.. Their powers even increased when they evolved into N73 ME, N80ie, and N93i. There were no other phones that could bare their strength, power, and attractiveness... until came.. N95.. the predator. The N95 came to take over what they had achieved. It came to reveal the weaknesses of the old kings. The poor kings kept struggling to maintain their position. But with no mercy, N95 buried them alive. They kept fighting and screaming to let everybody know they're still alive, but in no time, their voices started to fade away.. until total silence... We haven't heard any news about N73, N80, nor N93 for quite a long time. Nokia is totally ignoring them. I understand they're mostly concerned right now with the new monsters; N95, N95 8GB, N82, N81 and N81 8GB, but come on, those phones you're ignoring were the kings not too long ago. Give them new firmware with more enhancements or at least update our Dowloads! application folder. Survival is really for the strongest... Labels: N73, N80, N81, n81 8gb, N82, n93, N93i, N95, N95 8gb

N82's XML File is out!
Saturday, October 6, 2007
Rumored about 5 months ago, the N82's XML file is out and it isn't a rumor anymore. It's a 5Mpx Camera, Carl Zeiss optics, with autofocus and XENON Flash!! Also there is Wlan, Bluetooth, AD2P, built-in GPS and runs on S60v3 FP1. I definitely want one!!! Labels: feature pack, N82, new release, Nokia, S60, S60 V3, Symbian

Nokia N81, Nokia N82, Rumors? I guess not.
Saturday, May 12, 2007
A couple of photo has spread on the internet previewing an N81 and an N82 along with their specs. The photos looked fake to me at the begining, however Nokia sent requests to Some website owners (Symbian-Guru in specific) to remove the photos which indicates they are real or else why would they care. In my case Nokia hasn't sent me anything, therefore I'll publish the photos :)
N81:
Set to be launched 4Q 2007 and running S60v3 FP1, the Nokia N81 is a slider-followup to the N91 8GB Music Edition. It is quad-band EDGE with 2100 HSDPA, WiFi (b/g w/ uPnP), BT 2.0 with A2DP, and a 3.5mm slot.
Specs: - Form factor: slide
- Dimensions: 102 x 50 x 17.9 mm
- Weight: ~ 140g
- Memory: 8GB internal flash memory
- Music Playback time: up to 12,5 hours
- Gaming time: up to 3-4 hours
- Talk time: up to 3-4 hours (3G)/3-4 hours(GSM)
- Standby time: up to 15 days
- Main Display: 2.4"QVGA 240x320, 16M colors
- Main Camera: 2Mpix
- Second Camera: CIF
-------------------------------------------------------------- N82:
This is a candybar device to followup the N73. Similar to the N81, it has quad-band GSM and 2100 HSDPA, BT 2.0 (w/ A2DP), WiFi (b/g w/ uPnP), but also adds built-in GPS, TV-out, FM Radio, and a MicroSD slot. The kicker is VGA, 30 fps video recording and a 5MP shooter with Carl Zeiss lens and auto-focus, similar to the N95. However, the N82 packs an awesome XENON flash for ultra-brightness.
The N82 is designed for style, but packing the features to make it worth the $$. Still running S60v3 FP1, the N82 lengthens the life-span of the S60v3 FP1 platform, and should be available in Q4 2007. It is targeted towards "tech-stylists 20-35," with a female skew, but not enough to dissuade males of its power.
Specs: - Dimensions: 112 x 50.2 x 17.3 mm
- Weight: 120 g [Target]
- Memory: Up to 100 MB in-build, support for hot swappable MicroSD card (1GB in-box)
- Talk time: GSM: 280min, WCDMA: 180min (Target)
- Standby time: GSM: 270hrs WCDMA: 250hrs (Target)
Display Specification: - Main Display: 2.4"QVGA 240x320, 16M colors
Camera Specifications: - 5MPix, Autofocus, up to 20 x digital zoom. Real Xenon flash. Integrated camera protection
- Secondary camera: CIF
The N82 is DEFINITELY something to write home about. Basically all the features of the N95, plus a better flash, and *hopefully* better battery/memory management in roughly the same size as the N73
