The N-Series. The E-Series. The Communicators. The Navigator. All of those, and all other smartphones which share the highest technology, did not just come out of the blue one day. These are the results of more than 10 years of researches and developement.
In the begining, mobile phones were used for nothing more than making and recieving calls. Remember when sending SMS was the amazing feature feature of a mobile =D Then came picture messages, followed by animated Screensavers. I remember the day when I was frustrated because my 3310 did not have animated screensaver as the 3330 did :D.
There was no inernal memory on the phone. You couldn't store contacts except on sim card. Call records could't hold more than 10 entries in missed calls, recieved calls, dialled numbers each. Can you believe Nokia 3210 contained SIX ringing tone!! :D
Snake was the "WoW" game in nokia phones ( Well until came Space Impact :) ). I remember when snake contests where held sometime on a 3310!

The 3310 was released in year 2000.
Comparing those to today's features, what does a 3310 lack? It lacks technology! It lacks GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, 3G, Camera, Bluetooth, Infrared, USB, WLAN, GPS. The phone is monophonic. The screen is 2 colors. No memory cards... etc... We can go forever.
Simply those phones are absolutely incomparable to today's smartphones, specially when today's smartphone are developing into Multimedia Computers. However, those phones were kings of there time :). And who knows, maybe after 10 years, someone, in his own blog will be reviewing the N95 in a topic titled "When the 5MPx camera was a feature!!".
